Career Orientation Seminar for IT students at STU

On the morning of May 4, 2024, Saigon University of Technology (STU) organized a Career Orientation Seminar for all students in the Information Technology department. The aim was to guide career paths aligned with the current trends in the IT industry in Vietnam and globally, while also addressing students’ queries regarding the current state of the IT sector in Vietnam.

The seminar was attended by three representatives from leading technology companies in Vietnam. Firstly, Mr. Le Huu Tan Tai, Vice President Solution of KMS technology; followed by Mr. Nguyen Tran Thanh, Chief Technology Officer of Be Group; and lastly, a representative from ITC Group – Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huyen Trinh, Head of Marketing.

From STU, key figures present included Mrs. Nguyen Lac An Thu – Lecturer of the Information Technology department, along with representatives from all students in the Information Technology department.

During this seminar, all three speakers presented on market trends, the scale of development in the IT market currently, emerging technology trends, along advice on career development to meet the demands of enterprises. In particular, Mrs. Trinh, Marketing Manager of ITC Group, emphasized the importance of staying ahead in trending fields, especially in AI, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and IoT. These four technology domains are expected to lead global development trends. Other speakers focused on directing the technical skills that companies are currently seeking, ensuring students accurately grasp the current recruitment landscape.

The overall session concluded with a discussion on career development for students. Experts shared insights into diverse career opportunities in this field, ranging from different job positions requiring various skills, to experiences when working with domestic or international partners. The speakers also provided advice on overcoming the difficulties and challenges that technology students are currently facing, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with the latest knowledge to remain relevant in the industry.

The ceremony was a resounding success with the enthusiastic participation of students interested in this field. It provided an important opportunity for university students to directly interact and exchange ideas with pioneers in the IT field in Vietnam. This seminar also serves as an opportunity for Vietnamese IT companies to contribute to the development of a high-quality labor force generation, impacting the overall development of Vietnam’s technology sector
